Age slower with green tea

It has been well documented that the Japanese age better than any other nation. There’s many reasons behind this & one is because they drink copious amounts of green tea.

Green tea has many proven benefits, but the reason that motivated me to start drinking it was of course the fact that it’s anti ageing & beneficial for skin health!

Green tea is one of the most powerful of all antioxidants, it contains the antioxidant catechin, which is more powerful than vitamins C & E at preventing ageing, according to a study by the university of Kansas.

You’ll often find it in skincare products too such as SKIN VEG from @skingredients as it also works well applied topically at slowing ageing.

Thousands of clinical studies & published research also indicate that green tea helps vitality, mental focus (as it contains l-theanine) & aids detoxification.

One of my favourite doctors here @dr.doireannoleary spoke recently about it’s oral health benefits & as oral health is linked to heart health, it may also help protect against heart disease.

It has also been linked in other studies to helping to prevent dementia, cancer, diabetes & even reducing cholesterol!

I’ve tried many varieties in my 20 years of drinking green tea but my search ended once I discovered this one from @clearspringuk

Many green teas are bitter & strong but this one is mild, refreshing & quite frankly- addictive! Anyone I’ve introduced it to, have all loved it & gone on to purchase it also.

Like all teas, loose leaf ones are the best quality so choose these over the tea bag variety.

The key to brewing the perfect cup of green tea, is to let your boiled water rest for approximately 3 minutes before you add the tea, otherwise you will scald it & get that bitter taste. There’s no need to add sugar or milk it’s perfect as it is.

According to Dr Anthony Youn, the ideal amount for skin with fewer wrinkles is 4 cups a day. Add lemon juice for even more antioxidants!

If you don’t like it, you can also take 500mg per day in a supplement.

It’s available in all good health food stores, I get mine from @horanshealthstores for €11.70.
