BENEFITS OF VITAMIN A FOR SKIN.

Another essential vitamin for ageing slower and overall skin health is Vitamin A. I take this separately to my beauty supplements as it’s not normally found in skin supplements as it’s not safe during pregnancy.

Vitamin A the only vitamin that can cause a physical change within the skin & repair DNA damage.

It has many proven benefits including;

💊It helps boost collagen production & improves elastin formation.

💊 It triggers the skins own hyaluronic acid production and therefore promotes natural moisturisation.

💊 It helps to normalise pigmentation.

💊 It improves problematic skin conditions & normalises skin abnormalities.

💊 it speeds up the exfoliation cycle and stops the build up of old keratin cells

💊 It accelerates healing.

💊 It promotes a healthy dermis & epidermis.

For optimum skin health, a supplement is ideal if you’re not getting enough from food sources such as carrots, spinach berries, beef, chicken, eggs & butter.

You also should be applying it topically in the form of retinols ( swipe to see some of my favourites) or if you can’t tolerate retinol or are pregnant choose gentler, safer options such as bakuchiol, @loccitane_uk_ire immortelle range or rosehip oil as in @alisobeauty supercharged facial oil.

Always start with a low dose ( see my separate post on retinoids) as too much can irritate the skin and ALWAYS use an SPF!

As well as pregnancy it should not be taken if you’re breastfeeding or on certain medications so always check with your GP first.

The Vitamin A supplement I take is from @advancednutritionprogramme and it’s available from selected salons including @therapieclinic & also online at @beautyfeatures.ie
