Cica- aka the fountain of youth!

CICA, which is short for centella asiatica, is a well known anti inflammatory and skin barrier booster that has been used in Chinese medicine for healing wounds for centuries.

In China it’s known as “the fountain of youth” so read on if you want to find out why!

It’s nickname is “tiger grass” as tigers roll in this leafy green herb to heal their wounds.

Research shows that it DOES indeed help with the regeneration of cells, repairing cuts and burns, treating acne and soothing inflamed sensitive skin.

The reason? It’s packed full of antioxidants, amino acids, beta carotene, fatty acids and vitamins A, B, & C which provide skin with an anti microbial boost, an anti inflammatory effect while also stimulating collagen production, meaning it can fight premature ageing!

It’s especially effective against dark spots, redness, sensitivity & fine lines, plus it boosts circulation & blood flow to the skin, helping combat dullness, dehydration & moisture loss.

It also lowers skin temperature by 2.8c making it helpful for hot, stressed or sunburned skin.

As it helps strengthen the skins barrier function it’s beneficial for eczema, psoriasis, veins and even stretch marks.

Is there anything it doesn’t help with?!

It’s set to be the hot new K beauty ingredient and is now in all the latest beauty launches including @revolutionskincare cica serum @lorealuki Revitalift CICA cream, @no7uk CICA rescue paste & of course it’s already well known in @biodermaie cicabio @drjart cica pair and @larocheposayuki Cicaplast Baume which is a cult classic.
