While it’s all fun & games on the night/nights the aftermath sure ain’t no laughing matter not just for our heads but also for our skin!
Alcohol is a diuretic which is why our faces can resemble shrivelled up prunes the morning after.
Alcohol causes dehydration, drinkles, bloating, puffiness, sallowness and red skin the morning after the night before.
Thankfully, there are ways of rescuing your skin the next day helping you look glowing again for your next night out.
First off- hydrate, hydrate & hydrate again!
Loads of water will help flush out these toxins out & will rehydrate your face.
If you can manage a brisk walk this will get your circulation going and give you a glow.
When you get back have an Epsom Salt Bath as this will improve your circulation & also detox.
Cold teaspoons over the eyes will help depuff as will cold chamomile tea bags.
Give your face a good double cleanse with a hydrating cleanser and then apply a hydrating mask.
Spritz on a hydrating mist such as after to reduce redness.
Facial massage will increase circulation & boost lymphatic drainage.
Apply a thick layer of serum beforehand to avoid extra friction that can cause redness & broken capillaries on an already fragile skin!
Apply a rich moisturiser to really hydrate.
Make up wise, avoid any glittery eye shadow as it can irritate sensitive eyes & also draw attention to their puffiness!
Don’t overdo the undereye concealer either as it can also make puffy eyes worse, use a light colour correcting, hydrating one.
Nothing adds a pop of colour to the face like a bright blusher to give that wide awake glow!
Defining your brows will also detract attention away from your dark circles too as will a bright lip.
Avoid powders as alcohol leaves your skin with dry patches & these will only exacerbate these.
So no matter how much alcohol you’ve consumed, no one will be any the wiser thanks to these skin hangover helpers!
