HYDRATING ACIDS.

Updated: Sep 21, 2020

✨ HYDRATING ACIDS ✨

Not all acids need to be used with caution in skincare, hydrating acids such as hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acid can not only be used safely, day or night, but can be used with both exfoliating acids such as glycolic, salicylic and lactic and with treatment acids such as retinol and vitamin C!

Hydrating acids should be used by everyone, no matter what age or skin type, as all skin needs hydration.

HYALURONIC ACID.

This needs no introduction, it’s the holy grail of hydrating acids, plumping up those pesky lines and wrinkles!

It hold 1,000 times its own weight in moisture and works on the deeper layers of the skin.

We are all born with it, it’s the ingredient that gives babies their plump skin, but start to decline after age 25.

Always apply to damp skin to prevent that tight feeling and use as your first serum as it enables subsequent ingredients to penetrate deeper.

POLYGLUTAMIC ACID.

This is a newer hydrating acid on the block and is FOUR times more hydrating than hyaluronic acid!

It works on the top layer of skin, forming a film to stop water loss.

It’s also a peptide, a gentle exfoliator, it minimises pigmentation AND boosts elasticity!

For the best hydrating results on both the surface of your skin and deep down, use both in your skincare regime.

My favourite hyaluronic acid is @holosskincarefromnature and Polyglutamic acid is @theinkeylist
