OMEGAS

Following on from yesterday’s post about how to distinguish between dry and dehydrated skin, Omega 3 is a vital nutrient no matted which one you have. Omega 3 is not just helpful during winter, when fluctuating temperatures and central heating zap moisture from skin but all year round due to all these benefits!

Omega 3 moisturises skin from the inside out, keeping it smooth, supple, strong & glowing plus it can also elevate firmness and elasticity for younger looking skin. @cherylofficial swears by Omega 3 for her glowing skin and if it’s good enough for Cheryl!!

Omega 3 is found mainly in oily fish, nuts and seeds, and is one of the nutrients for both maintenance of skin health, and also for the treatment of many common dry skin conditions like eczema, rosacea and psoriasis.

Omega 3 also helps the body to create its own natural anti inflammatory compounds which can act in the reduction of redness in these skin conditions which are an inflammatory response.

Omega 3 also aids the healing of acne scars and other skin lesions.

Studies have shown that most of us are actually deficient in Omega 3 which makes it even more important to take a daily supplement, as it’s very hard to get our RDA from food sources alone.

Remember topical skincare products will only treat 20% of skin conditions whereas supplements can treat up to 80%!

The one I’m currently using is from @pharmanord_ireland and you can get 10% off plus free shipping when you use the code Sally10.

As always please consult with your GP before taking this or any supplement.

Do you suffer from any dry skin conditions?
